The race
30 km (18 miles) trail race entirely off-road, starting at Sage Lodge and finishing at Chico Hot Springs Resort. The course includes a 10-mile climb to Emigrant Gulch with an elevation gain of 2,609 feet, followed by an 8-mile descent. It traverses trails, gravel roads, and forest paths, celebrating the protection of public lands from mining.
