The race
The Verbier Ultra runs two formats in the Bagnes massif: the VU100 (102 km, 7979 m gain) is a three-stage race held over September 11–13, while the VU42 (42 km, 2821 m gain) covers Stage 3 only, from Cabane Brunet to Bonatchiesse. The event also goes by the name Bagnes Traverse and is sponsored by X-Bionic.
