Welcome to the Siuslaw Dunes Trail Runs in the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, just south of Florence at historic Honeyman State Park. These challenging and scenic runs offer early season point-to-point 50K, 20 mile and 12K adventures that traverse a wild tapestry of coastal terrain, including vast sand dunes with “tree islands”, old growth rainforests, stream crossings and remote ocean beaches. This is a truly one-of-a-kind race opportunity that will test even the most seasoned runners! Background Oregon’s central coast harbors a mosaic landscape of ancient forests, Pacific shoreline and sand dune ecosystems known as the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. Within the mighty Siuslaw National Forest (pronounced sigh-YEW-slaw), the ever-changing Oregon Dunes are the largest expanse of coastal sand dunes in North America, offering dynamic scenery as well as opportunities for adventure and solitude.
