The race
The Red Panda Marathon 2026 takes place on September 5 in Salleri, in the Solukhumbu district. It is an extreme 48 km trail race with over 2,872 meters of positive elevation gain, connecting the Thekchhen Pema Chholing monastery to the summit of Pikey Peak (4,054 m). The event, organized by the Red Panda Network, aims to raise awareness for the conservation of the red panda and its habitat.
