The race
Born from the experience of the Marathon Misilmeri, the first edition of the Menzel El Emir 'Up&Down' is set in one of the most scenic nature reserves of the Gulf of Palermo, the Montagna Grande Reserve. This new edition marks a radical change, transforming into an 'Up&Down' Trail Running competition designed to highlight both uphill power and downhill technique. The course features a single ascent and a single descent, both timed separately, allowing for separate evaluation of the two performances and making the race even more spectacular and selective.
